The University of Alicante since its inception has shown a special sensitivity in all issues relating to accessibility in the virtual world as in the physical world (http://web.ua.es/es/cae/).Â With this in mind it works by having a fully accessible website following accessibility guidelines 1.0 of the W3C Web content. The pages of the upper levels already comply with these recommendations and works by making it accessible to the rest of the pages. The large volume of the site, more than 300,000 pages, makes it difficult to reach the level of quality in the accessibility that is required for us.
With the addition of the CMS Vual, gets a rating level AAA (in automatic points), all the content that is managed with this tool. Thus fulfilling the commitment contained in the 1494 RD / 2007 of 12 November, which approves the regulation on the basic conditions for the access of persons with disabilities to the technologies, products and services related to the information society and media.
However, the pages imported automatically to the new content manager Vual, in most cases, obtained a grade AA level (in the automatic points). Service selection and training in collaboration with the computing service being provided training courses geared to achieving the AAA rating manual points.
