Exhibitions by La Alcudia

Among the exhibitions carried out by the Foundation or where it contributed in the transfer of pieces, both nationally and internationally, we can highlight — due to the impact achieved — “Iberia, Hispania, Spania. A look from Ilici”, sponsored by the banking entity Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo. It took place between the months of November 2004 and April 2007 in Alicante, Murcia, Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, Cartagena, Barcelona, %u200B%u200BElche, Madrid and Albacete. The pieces from La Alcudia preserved in the museums in Elche and those from the Ibarra collection, sold by the heirs of Aureliano Ibarra i Manzoni to the National Archaeological Museum of Madrid at the end of the 19th century, were brought together for the first time.

In addition, since November 2013 the University of Alicante Museum (MUA) has had an exhibition in the L’Alcúdia room that includes information on the site and the Foundation in charge of it, as well as a Roman mosaic and significant materials corresponding to the different phases of the archaeological site. This is intended to increase the relationship between La Alcudia and the University and, especially, with its students.

The foundation also collaborates with other museum institutions, such as MARQ or MAHE, with their exhibition programmes, as was the case of a joint project with MAHE called La Alcudia in action, which was developed between February and June 2016. The purpose was to bring visitors closer to the archaeological works showing an excavation and exhibiting the set of instruments necessary to carry them out.
