The Foundation L'Alcúdia llevar different lines of investigation. On the one hand, the adaptation of the interventions in the yacimiento to the needs of conservation of the existent structures or to the answer of questions of cultural or historical interest previously posed and, on the other hand, to the recovery, documentary and archaeologic, of the enormous bequeathed produced during the last century by Alejandro Bouquets Folqués and by Rafael Bouquets Fernández.
Besides, the marked university character of our headquarters, includes the teaching like a project of special importance, using the interventions of field or studies of laboratory like base for the practices of university students.
The investigation has the support and the collaboration of the University Institute of Investigation in Archaeology and Historical Heritage (INAPH), created in created in the University of Alicante by Decree 149/2014 of the Consell with the end to boost the study, the interpretation and the diffusion of the Historical Heritage through the most up to date and complete archaeologic perspective. The INAPH has a line of specific investigation on %u201Cthe investigation, conservation and diffusion in the yacimiento university of The Alcudia%u201D and has a wide presence in his Scientific Council.
Comprise and know Ilici in his three fundamental moments: 1. The formative phase (the step of the settlement ibero to the foundation of the colony), 2. The definition of the roman city (in his two essential moments: augusteo and flavio), 3. The trasformación of the city in the late antiquity, his abandonment and the training of Elx).
Contextualise the monuments and structures excavated in periods with systems of scarce register, integrating them in circuits visitables coherent and comprehensible.
Document the most ancient phases of the yacimiento, (Iberian and/or prehistoric), and integrate them in the put in value of the archaeologic park.
Monumental group situated in the zone of access to the yacimiento. Today it is visible the façade, of more than 60 m. Of long that delimits the building by the west and, in the upper platform, rests of some of the pavings related with the frigidarium, a specus and the natatio.
In the traditional bibliography this front had interpreted like a wall of late chronology, but the interventions llevar indicate that it treats of the external wall of a big complex termal.
These data add to the obtained in 1890 by D. Pedro Ibarra, that excavated some of the rooms of the edifico (like the caldarium and the tepidarium), and whose results described with sum minuciosidad. Thanks to this, today has been able to recover this information in spite of that the archaeologic rests find again covered of earth.
The building built to the last third of the 1st century to.N.And. On the partial rests of a more ancient wall, and exist evidences of his utilisation at least until the Late Antiquity.
In this sector comes developing the educational program of the Practical Course of Archaeology, included in the Courses of Summer Rafael Altamira of the University of Alicante, opened to the university students of diverse origins.
Like consequence of the construction of the Centre of Interpretation to the entrance of the yacimiento, documented and restored the roman wall of the city, with the sponsorship of the Provincial Deputation of Alicante, inside the agreement between the Foundation Marq and the Foundation The Alcudia.
It treats of a wall with basamento of mampostería and top of season, dated at least in the 1st century to.N.And., that a century later was disassembled and reaprovechada partly, in the construction of the complex termal western of the city, whose platform won terrain on the determinate limits by the wall.

Performance directed to propose, on the one hand, the relectura estratigráfica of the sector from a new archaeologic intervention employing an up to date methodology and, by another, the one to recover the ancient excavations that there practised , so much structural like documentalmente. The final aim pursues to update one of the sectors of the yacimiento with an occupational sequence more complete.
The first part of the project, the excavation, was funded by the Generalitat Valencian inside the designated Plan Confidence, requested by the City council of Elche. It documented an urban sector that was in operation from at least the 1st century to.N.And until the starts of the Islamic period, without descartar that exist previous phases of Iberian period in the levels infrapuestos still for documenting. It appeared at least a roman street with a dilated sequence of occupation, to more than rests of the caldarium of an important complex termal, next or perhaps linked to the termas western.
In the actuality, are realising the relative studies to the sequences estratigráficas by phases, from the Iberian stage until the Late Antiquity, giving to know diverse results in publications and seminars. Performance directed to document and reinterpretar the sequence estratigráfica and the levels excavated in the sector10D. In this meridional sector of L'Alcúdia, near to the place in which it discovered the Lady of Elche, practised archaeologic excavations in 1905, in 1923 and in the decade of the years 50 of the 20th century. The compilation of a part of this ancient documentation, has allowed to realise a proposal of reading estratigráfica that, combined with sodeos estratigráficos punctual, has allowed to hire the corresponding information to the republican phase of Ilici.
