Admission profile

Degree and diploma holders in the following areas related to health sciences will have the logical profiles for the Master’s Degree (Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Food Science and Technology, Podology, Labour Relations, Occupational Therapy). However, the following degree holders will also be considered appropriate for admission: Statistics, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Economics, Engineering, Law, Education and Teaching, Journalism.

Most appropriate prior education:

  • Minimum knowledge of statistics and epidemiology - a recommended requirement.
  • Basic knowledge of English.

Entrance requirements

According to the Regulations of the University of Alicante, the following requirements must be complied to have access to official taught Master’s degrees:

  1. To be in possession of a SPANISH OFFICIAL GRADUATE DEGREE CERTIFICATE or other issued by an institution of higher education  within the EHEA (European Higher Education) that enables the holder to have access  to Master’s degrees in the issuing.
  2. To be in possession of an officially approved  FOREIGN HIGHER EDUCATION DEGREE CERTIFICATE that had been recognised as equal to the degree that allows access to the requested studies.
  3. To be in possession of a UNIVERSITY DEGREE CERTIFICATE obtained in a University or Higher Education Institution of COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE EHEA, without the prior approval of their studies. In this case, the following should be considered:
    • Non- recognised degree certificates shall require a technical report showing an equivalence statement issued by the University of Alicante (ContinUA – Continuing Education Centre), for which the corresponding fee should be paid.
    • Access through this way does under no circumstances imply prior official approval of the holder’s degree certificate, nor its recognition for purposes other than studying a master's degree.

Admission criteria

The selection of Master’s degree students will be in accordance with the candidate’s curriculum vitae as well as the results obtained for their degrees. A minimum number of places will be reserved for Resident physicians in Preventive Medicine and Public Health from the Region of Valencia who wish to study for a Master’s Degree in Public Health at the UMH and UA and avoid relocation to other universities in Spain, given that this qualification is a necessary requirement for their MIR training.

Pre-registration and registration

Students who intend to study for an officially recognised Master’s Degree at the UA should complete pre-enrolment in accordance with the guidelines and deadlines specified annually.

Pre-registration will be exclusively carried out online by filling in the form available for this purpose.

Please note that you will need the reference number of your last pre- registration, which was sent to you in a confirmation email for this purpose.

Following publication of the final list of those admitted to the course, an email containing a user password will be sent to successful applicants, enabling them to enrol via the Campus Virtual in accordance with the guidelines and deadlines specified annually.

Credit recognition and transfer

Justo antes de realizar la automatrícula, el o la estudiante realizará, en su caso, la solicitud de reconocimiento de créditos.

En el caso de proceder de FP Superior indicar como asignatura de origen la propia titulación de FP, ya que el reconocimiento será, en su caso, a partir de la titulación completa.

NO DEBES MATRICULARTE de las asignaturas que solicites reconocer.

Se recomienda que la solicitud sea para todos los cursos de la titulación, en lugar de realizar una solicitud cada año. De esta manera, la resolución será global y única.

Procedimiento telemático de solicitud: a través de UACloud: e-Administración - Reconocimiento de créditos.

Por cada petición que hagas, el programa generará un JUSTIFICANTE REGISTRO con los datos de la solicitud. Documentación a presentar:

  • Certificado del expediente académico. Para estudios realizados en la Universidad de Alicante es suficiente con aportar una Ficha informativa del estudiante, sellada por el centro de origen.
  • Plan de estudios publicado en el BOE.
  • Programas de las asignaturas, sellados por el departamento o centro de origen.
  • El alumnado que solicite reconocimientos desde un ciclo formativo superior sólo debe presentar el certificado académico expedido por el centro de formación profesional.

Sólo se tramitarán aquellas solicitudes que vayan acompañadas de toda la documentación requerida.

Tasas: Una vez hecho el estudio del reconocimiento y comunicado el número de créditos que se van a reconocer, para que puedan ser incorporados al expediente se deberá abonar el 25% del coste de los créditos (100% en el caso de reconocimiento por experiencia laboral o profesional).

Tras la resolución de reconocimiento, el o la estudiante podrá solicitar modificar su matrícula en el plazo de 5 días tras la notificación de su resolución.

Nota para los solicitantes de beca: Los créditos reconocidos no se consideran créditos matriculados a efectos de cumplimiento de requisitos establecidos en las convocatorias de becas.

Observaciones: para cotejar una fotocopia debes presentar también el documento original. Después de comprobar la autenticidad de la copia te devolverán el original. Si las fotocopias estuvieran ya compulsadas por el organismo que emitió el documento original o por un notario o, en caso de tratarse de documentos extranjeros, estuvieran ya cotejadas y legalizadas por las representaciones diplomáticas o consulares de España en el país de donde proceda el documento, no será necesaria la presentación simultánea del original.
