A visiting student can be either Spanish or an overseas student who wishes to study temporarily at the University of Alicante in order to take some academic training but who is not a regular student.
This modality is useful for foreign students wishing to to spend up to one year or one semester at the University of Alicante and then return to their University of origin.
Also, for reasons of self-interest, the option of applying for a place as a 'visiting student' is useful for those who want to register in some single courses to complete their training at the UA.
The main requirement for applying for a place as a visiting student is accrediting having being a university student or being currently one of them or at least being able to prove that they meet the requirements for admission to university studies.
Visiting students can make use of the 'special registration' modality which allows students to select courses at the University of Alicante to study for a semester or a full academic year.
This type of registration can be used to study courses included in any official undergraduate or graduate degree. Visiting students cannot register for more than 30 credits per semester or 60 credits per full year.
Registration may be limited in first-year courses where the places have been covered by regular students.
'Special registration' is not consistent with regular registration.
To apply for a place as a "visiting student", please submit your application to the UA Mobility Office at beginning of the academic year.
