Completed the Strategic Plan 2007-2012 and once informed in the Council of Government of the University in February 2013, since then performed tasks for the preparation of the new plan. The year 2013 it concludes with the public exhibition and participation of the new Plan.
This document constitutes the new Strategic Plan of our University, for the period from 2014 to 2019 (included). In its preparation has been used the experience of the institution and the possibilities offered by ICT to streamline processes. Intends that the new plan is more efficient than the previous one as a tool for decision-making.
In 2019, our University celebrates its 40th anniversary since its creation. For this reason, 2014-2019 have called Strategic Plan Strategic Plan UA 40.
The methodology that has been used has been agile and realistic, so:
It has been used the strategic culture of the UA and his experience, acquired both in the design and monitoring of the strategic UA horizon 2012 Plan.
Participation techniques and online collaborative tools have been used.
The development of the Plan involved three phases:
The first phase has focused on the review of strategic bases, where all representatives of the different groups of our University have received and mostly a survey to review the mission, SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis, establish how we want to make our University in 2019, ultimately defining the objectives to achieve as a result of the strategic actions of the Plan.
The second phase, consisted in the elaboration of strategic proposals. Effectiveness of media, each Vice President has made the strategic proposals, contemplating their viability without relinquishing certain ambition, they have been taken into account electoral commitments to this Rectorate, the current situation, the SWOT analysis and the vision of our University in 2019.
The third phase consisted in exposure and public participation (November 27, 2013 to 31 January 2014), performing in this period more than 3,500 accesses to the download of the document exposed website. The survey of participation has contained a section of general assessment of the document, with scores of 1 to 5, being 1 - completely disagree and 5-absolutely. We have obtained an average rating of 3.9 out of 5.
Likewise, the survey has had a section of free content where participants have been able to make any comments or proposals and express what they consider appropriate. In total there have been 70 suggestions, which have served to improve the document initially exposed, either by direct inclusion either modification of any concrete action. All the ideas contributed, although some of them do not form part of the final document, have been given transfer to the appropriate Vice President. Undoubtedly, this phase has served to refine and pick up the collective opinion, bringing participation and transparency to the process.
Obviously, planning appropriate to current needs is much more complex in difficult times, but given the scenario that happens we have to minimize the margin of error. Considering the situation, we have considered fundamental to the new Strategic Plan will help position our University in the best possible way especially thinking that in coming years the University will have an important social role and challenges of great depth.
Before the end of this introduction, it is to recognize the collaboration of collectives and individuals that have contributed to the proposal which is exposed with their ideas:
