Smart People: comunidad Senspeople

Arguably are increasingly more citizens who daily use the technology as a means to interact between themselves and the city itself through smart phones, tablets, Internet and multiple devices. Relations between citizens and cities begin to go beyond make inquiries and procedures with the Administration, consultation of the status of the traffic, the State Meteorology or street consultation. No doubt technology provides the opening of new concepts, such as the Smart Cities and Smart Universities, and through them to the citizens and cities provides a double benefit: hand the ability to communicate to the citizens of proactively relevant data that improve their quality of life and on the other the Administration received data of the citizens so cities take decisions in real time to achieve best quality indexes in behalf of the citizens. Is therefore clear that there is a direct correlation between the perception of the citizens who receive value-added services and the development of trust that provides a networking relationship with the community, or the city.

"Is key to the development of the cities having well-educated citizens, so that the concept Smart People focused their aspects and makes reference to the following features: e-habilidades, work enabled by IT, have access to education and training, human resources and management capacity, in an inclusive society that enhances creativity and innovation."

Another important feature of a Smart People is the ability of the citizens to be prosumers of data for the city, which makes that data for decision making analysis tools to develop, create products and services, and citizens through Scorecards can manipulate and customize their own data.

Therefore we can define the four pillars or a Smart University in the field of Smart People basic factors such as the following:

  • E-Habilidades: equip with skills in the TI citizens allowing them to be available to all new technologies that will provide a better quality of life, promoting social integration, accessibility and the flow of ideas and knowledge among all is continuous
  • Senspeople: do citizens intelligent sensors that are part of data entry in the Smart University contributing to information feedback and to improvement of the quality of services.
  • Tele-tele-education / capacity-building: educate citizens of a university or a city in the best way. Flexible schedules, greater interaction and a reduction of costs is allowing telework and virtual education is to improve the training and development of people, both students and the Faculty and staff of the University.
  • Smart Services: developing social networks, tools for creating services for citizens, E-encuestas, e-Votaciones, e-participation that will make citizens feel more involved in public life both the Administration and give more credibility and transparency to the administration.
