Descripción  The article contains the initiatives and experiences explained at the conference "Planning and Designing a Non-Sexist Society" held at the University of California, Los Angeles, on April 21, 1979. The gender perspective in this article seeks to put the spotlight on women’s status outside the home when they try to break free from the "women as wives, household managers, and caregivers to spouses and children" role, and the struggle to find their own space in society.
