Our project “Women for Science, Women for Sure” includes a collection of audio visual and educational resources and a selection of web pages that secondary teachers can bring to their classes in order to make visible the contribution of women who develop their career from their training in studies related to the field of sciences (biology, the environment, chemistry, mathematics, etc). All these resources can be used by secondary teachers in their classes.
We feature the European Commission site “Science: It's a girl thing!” where we can find -among others- the six reasons why science needs women and a quiz to discover your inner researcher.
Other than the resources that secondary education centres can use in their classess, the University of Alicante is promoting information sessions given by the academic and research staff at the UA Faculty of Sciences (where undergraduate degrees in Biology, Marine Sciences, Geology, Mathematics, Chemistry and Optics & Optometry are taught). Those interested can applied for it at the University of Alicante Gender Equality Unit that is coordinating this programme.
