From October 17th to November 26th, UPUA is developing the Promotion of the Scientific and Technological Culture Programme 2008: “THE GEOGRAPHICAL AND ASTRONOMICAL SCIENCES: TECHNOLOGY APPLIED TO THE KNOWLEDGE SOCIETY AND THE ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP”. This programme, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology, tries to promote educative and divulgative actions related to the Experimental Sciences field which allow us to increase, in a didactic, useful and attractive way, the social interest for the Science and the scientific culture of our society, so that we can improve the science-technology-society dialog.
The Permanent University, which has always been interested in promoting scientific and technological education among its students, invites its students (who are enrolled to the 2008-2009 academic year) to take part in this initiative for free.
The action will be structured in five thematic sections which will be tackled in the theorical-practical sessions. They will adopt different forms: lessons, seminars, practical workshops and didactic and field schedules, as well as visits to the permanent exhibition that will take place during the development of the educative action.
With this objective, Members of the University of Alicante and prestigious experts in these scientific fields (professors, researchers, experts and technical experts) are taking part in it. They will speak about current, transcendental topics and topics with a high level of scientific and technological interest.
