El actor ante la cámara

LAST HOUR: THE COURSE CHANGES OF SCHEDULE. Of 10:00 to 14:00

General information

This workshop will take place in Ciudad de la Luz and Gracia Querejeta will participate. We will try to recreate the relationship between the director and the actor as it is in the cinema. We will start by reading some sequences and afterwards, we will start rehearsing. Finally, we will film all those sequences in a simple way but trying to get a minimum of scenes in order to be able to edit them. Our idea is to create something that students can include in their video book later on.

Program

From 11th to 14th July 2016

From 10:00 a.m. to 02:00p.m.

It consists of 4 four-hour sessions in the mornings (16 face-to-face hours) and 4 hours of tutored distance learning

During these sessions, each pair or trio will work on a sequence of one of my scripts (I prefer them to be my sequences as I obviously know them quite well).

We will try to recreate the relationship between the director and the actor as it is in the cinema. In order to do so, we will start by reading some sequences so as to answer any question, make everything clear and try to get the right tones. Afterwards, we will start rehearsing. Finally, we will film all those sequences in a simple way but trying to get a minimum of scenes in order to be able to edit them. Our idea is to create something that students can include in their video book later on. Thus, all sequences will be filmed using medium and close shots, so as to let the actors and actresses take centre stage.

Once all students have finished this, the second exercise will be an improvisation in twos. Such improvisation will be based on a situation previously chosen by students. They shall also create the structure of the sequence (this part will be explained during the workshop).

According to my experience, if the group work is quick enough, we would still have time to spend the last day of the course filming a monologue prepared by each student
