The researchers Juan José Galiana-Merino, Julio Rosa-Heranz, Juan Luis Soler Llorens and Boualem Youcef Nassim Benabdeloued stayed from January 14 to 16 to Algiers in order to teach several seminars on seismic microzonation and seismic risk at the “Center de Recherche en Astronomie Astrophysique et Géophysique (CRAAG)”. Likewise, instrumentation developed by the research group itself has been assigned for use in Algeria.
Next Monday, December 16th, 2019, at 10:30 am, will be the defense of the doctoral thesis of Juan Luis Soler Llorens, entitled "Design, implementation and validation of systems based seismic-data acquisition Arduino" directed by José Juan Giner Caturla and Juan José Galiana Merino, belonging to the PhD program in Physics applied to Science and Technology. The act of defense will be in the Boardroom of the Faculty of Sciences (https://www.sigua.ua.es/index.html?id=0007P1005)
Researchers from the University of Alicante participate, along with 21 other entities, in a European project to develop low-cost sensors that will detect parameters such as the intensity of an earthquake and the damage it has caused, which will allow a more efficient emergency management, by offering information in real time and in the format needed by public emergency services.
First meeting of the European project H2020
During the 13th and 14th of June, the first meeting of the European project H2020 was held to establish the tasks of each of the work teams. The meeting was held in Oslo and was attended by researchers from the University of Alicante, Sergio Molina Palacios and Juan José Galiana Merino.
