ABSTRACT
Accurate Perception-based Visualization of Color and Texture of Goniochromatic Paints on Electronic Displays
In the paint industry, digital methods like websites and apps are quickly replacing traditional methods for color representations. In this lecture we will discuss several aspects of color visualization on electronic displays. Apart from color, also visual texture plays a role in the color assessment of automotive paints. We recently developed new insights on how visual texture can be visualized with the high accuracy that is required for very color critical markets like car refinishes market. Also for accurate representation of the color on 3D objects, a fundamental change in concepts turns out to be needed.
